Keighley 27 Baildon 25 - Keighley's second string pulled off a dramatic win in the 2nd round of the Skipton Properties Aire/Wharfe Cup. They trailed by 15 points to nil after 20 minutes play through tries for Baildon by Nicholas Lister and Matt Oddy with Lister landing a conversion and a penalty.
A try by Keighley flanker Nick Wright reduced the arrears and before half time Chris Meehan added a penalty goal.
A breakaway try by flanker Chris Smithies increased Baildon's lead early in the second half before Meehan and Lister exchanged penalty goals.
As tension heightened there was a yellow card for Keighley's Chris Weatherill followed by the sending off of Baildon No. 4 Rick Holden.
A good break by Nigel Curr led to a try by Michael Race to set up a grandstand finish with Meehan putting Keighley ahead for the first time with 5 minutes remaining. Still the drama continued with Lister narrowly off target with the last kick of the game.
