TWO goals from David Collier sent Oxenhope on their way to the Premier division title.

Collier's goals were backed up by a strike from Steve Potts as they beat Cononley 3-0 on Tuesday night to make certain of the title.

They had moved to within one point of making the title theirs after Saturday's 2-0 victory over Embsay, in a game which was brought to a premature end when Ben White suffered a broken leg.

An Ambulance had to be called to the ground to carry White to hospital, but he was back on the touchline in a wheelchair to watch his team mates secure the championship. The league ruled that the result of the match would stand, a decision which the Embsay club agreed with.

Oxenhope were soon on the attack in Saturday's game, but when a couple of good chances missed their mark there was concern in the Oxenhope camp that it was not going to be their day. They put paid to any concerns when David Collier blasted home a superb shot to take a 1-0 lead at the break.

The took complete command in the second half, but were still unable to add to their score until Lee Watchler made it 2-0. Embsay looked to have scored from a free kick, but the referee waved play-on.

Cross Hills were still in the relegation zone and were looking for maximum points against neighbours Cononley Sports, but there was no neighbourly love shown as Cononley hammered another nail into the Hills coffin by claiming a 4-2 victory.

Cononley pulled out all the stops against a lacklustre Hills side, but Daniel Thompson scored the first goal for Cross Hills. Wayne Fisher equalised, but Steve Smith gave Cross Hill the lead again shortly after the re-start.

The goal finally spurred Cononley into action and a brilliant solo run from Wayne Lee made it all square. Fisher scored a dazzling second and Cross Hills had no answer as Wayne fisher completed his hat-trick with a penalty.

Keighley Lifts were still in with an outside chance of taking the title at the start of the weekend and needed maximum points from Intake, but found the Lancashire side a tough nut to crack. They finally broke the deadlock right on half time, but it took until just before the final whistle before they made the game safe with a second goal.

Bronte Wanderers visited relegation threatened Carleton and the first half produced little of note from either side. Bronte started to take control after the break, but wasted their first clear cut chance.

The game looked to be heading for a goalless draw but a quickly taken free kick saw a good move develop and Tim Frear made sure of the points.

Cowling FC are making a brave bid to avoid relegation from Division One, and after their midweek victory over Bradley they travelled to Waddington and again wrapped up all three points. Cowling refused to let the opposition settle with Alasdair McEwan volleying home the first goal over the keeper's head. Mcewan added the second after taking on the Waddington defence and rounding the keeper.

The second half saw Waddington waken up, only to see cowling raise their game and score a third through martin Brown to clinch the points.

In Division Two Cross Hills Reserves, like their first team, are battling to stay up, but followed their midweek draw with Skipton Bulldogs Reserves with a victory over Ingleton. The North Craven side took the lead midway through the first half and held on until just before the break. Cross Hills won a free kick 25-yards out and James French curled a superb ball into the top corner.

In the second half Cross Hills began to get on top and goalkeeper turned centre forward Sam Smith made it 2-1. At this point Hills should have gone on to win convincingly but they wasted chance after chance.

Ingleton equalised and a draw looked on the cards until a little bit of magic from James French set up Samuel Persson for a later winner.

Lothersdale Athletic kept on course for a league and cup double when, for the second week in succession, they defeated Embsay Reserves 3-2.

Both teams started the game with caution and chances were few at either end until Dale broke into the Embsay penalty area and a quick one-two between John Lawrence and Dave Bennett secured a goal for Bennett.

Dale quickly capitalised on the strike and Mark Watson supplied the Cross for Lawrence to make it 2-0.

Embsay hit back with a good goal to set up a tight second period. John Baker eventually restored Dale's two goal lead, but again Embsay hit back to make it 3-2. Dale defended well in the closing stages and held out to earn a final place against Waddington, the only side to beat them in the league this season.
