EASTBURN bike racer Lee Morton has returned to the track riding in the National Superstock race series.

Morton, works for Keighley motorcycle dealer Colin Appleyard, and is backed by his boss on the circuit.

He missed the first day of practice at Snetterton last weekend and struggled with the suspension set-up of his race bike, finishing 28th in the first race of the weekend and 27th in the second, after qualifying 29th.

Te Colin Appleyard racing team 'Team TCB Recruit' was also in action at Snetterton in the second round of the British Superbike Championships.

After missing the first round with a back injury Paul Young returned to action and finished seventh in the first race and ninth in the second. He was followed home by team mate Jon Kirkham who finished 10th and 11th in the two races.

Bingley rider Ian Hutchinson, who is sponsored by local companies, including Great Northern Cars and Hobb Sport of Steeton, also enjoyed a good weekend, finishing 15th in the first race of the National Superstock Championship. He improved to finish 12th after qualifying 18th in the second race.

Current Superstock champion, David Jefferies was disappointed to only manage two fourth place finishes on his Suzuki after qualifying in second place.
