Rob Parker today admitted playing in Cardiff this weekend "would be a dream come true".

The 21-year-old converted prop never imagined the 2003 season would see him feature in every game and then get a chance to play in a Challenge Cup final.

But strong performances from the bench have ensured that Parker is highly likely to appear against Leeds in two days time at the Millennium Stadium, although he is not counting his chickens.

"Until I actually see the team, I will not be that confident," said Parker, whose only ever final appearance before this was the Middlesex Sevens triumph at Twickenham last year.

"I don't want to get carried away and then be disappointed. This season has already exceeded all my expectations and to play in a Challenge Cup final in front of more than 70,000 people would be a dream come true."

Despite his apparent lack of conviction, Parker is almost certain to

feature in Saturday's game, with Stuart Fielden out through injury.

The youngster has featured in every match this season, something that can be traced back to a conversation he had with coach Brian Noble during the pre-season warm-weather training camp.

"When we were in Portugal, Nobby had a chat with me and said that with Brian McDermott leaving there was a fourth prop spot up for grabs," he said.

"I have normally played second row, but if I was prepared to move to the front row then there would be healthy competition between me and Richard Moore for that spot."

Fielden was last night banned by disciplinary chiefs for two games for "ungentlemanly conduct" and fined £300 for the tackle in which he tore a cruciate ligament.

With Fielden out but Richard Moore escaping a ban for leading with his knees against Hull, Noble has a welcome selection headache among his forwards.

Bulls' only fitness doubt is Aussie full back Michael Withers, who has a stomach problem.

l Russell Smith, who officiated in the controversial Grand Final defeat to St Helens, has been confirmed as the referee for Saturday's final.

In the event of a tie, the game will be replayed on May 31 at Elland Road.
