Manorlands is revving up for a fundraising feast.

A motorcycle dealership and a burger giant are combining to serve up a tasty money-spinner for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder Care Centre.

For every vehicle using the McDonald's drive-through, in Keighley, on Saturday, June 21, between noon-2pm, £1 will be donated to the hospice. And the fast-food company will make a further donation if its previous record for such an event, of 300-plus vehicles, is beaten.

Keighley-based Colin Appleyard Motorcycles is giving its backing, and will have some of its machines there.

The event will form part of a massive Go Yellow campaign being staged by Manorlands and other hospices throughout June.

Activities will kick off with a Sunflower Ball - at the Five Flags Hotel, Cullingworth, on May 31 - which will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sue Ryder Care.

The ball will include a five-course meal, live music, disco, raffle and auction. Tickets are £30 per person. Other fundraisers will include the sale of sunflowers and supermarket collections. And schools, businesses and local groups are being encouraged to support the campaign by paying to dress in yellow or holding events.

On June 20, people are being asked to take "Tea at Three" and have a party or picnic, sell teas and cakes or hold a raffle or tombola to boost funds.

The Go Yellow venture is now in its third year, and has grown in stature. Last year it raised around £5,000 for Manorlands.
