Steeton Male Voice Choir will take its audience to the movies tomorrow during a concert with the Yorkshire Co-operatives Brass Band.

The 75-strong choir will perform songs from Les Miserables, Carousel, Chess and other popular musicals.

The band will play the James Bond Theme along with music by film composers John Williams and John Barry. The Steeton singers perform about 30 times a year in concert halls and churches.

Tomorrow's "stage and screen" concert is at the Square Chapel Centre for the Arts, Halifax, starting at 7.30pm.

n A feast of spooky entertainment bringing Shakespeare alive for children is promised in South Craven next month. Young Hamlet is the latest touring professional production to be staged at Glusburn Institute.

The CTC Theatre Company puts Hamlet on stage as a ghost to tell his tragic story like a detective at a crime scene.

Children aged nine to 12, and adults, are taken backwards through the events of the classic play.

"Hamlet acts out the key moments of his unfolding tragedy in Shakespeare's words," says CTC.

"This is an accessible and stimulating performance from the team that brought you Good Morning Mr Dickens!"

Young Hamlet is staged on May 8, at 7pm, and is accompanied by workshops in local schools.
