A 23-year-old man was threatened with a screwdriver as he walked home from working a night shift in Keighley.
He was pounced on by two men as he walked in West Lane, Keighley, near the junction with back Paget Street at about 2.45am on Saturday.
Detective Inspector Trevor Gasson of Keighley police said the victim, from Braithwaite, Keighley, was pushed against a wall and an eight or nine inch long screwdriver was pushed against his neck.
The pockets of his trousers and jacket were searched and his wallet was removed.
The attackers were described as Asian.
