Twenty-one vehicle registration books were taken from Baildon Bridge Garage, Shipley at the weekend. Thieves broke into the garage by breaking a window at the back of the building and stealing the books from a desk drawer. Total value of the books was £42. A Reliant van parked in Norwood Road, Shipley had brake fluid or paint stripped poured over it causing £125 worth of damage.

Mr. Jack Bramham, proprietor of the newsagents,sweets and tobacco business at the corner shop, St. George's Hall, Bradford, who has been on a monthly tenancy, has received notice to quit, and will leave on 16 May. Morning newspapers will still be sold outside the premises. Mr. Bramham is the last of the tenants of the St. George's Hall property to leave. The shop has been tenated by his family for nearly 30 years. He has another shop in Bridge Street.
