Yorkshire Water has warned that some Bradford households could experience discolouration to water from Monday because of improvement work.
Customers in Bradford, Pudsey and Drighlington could suffer problems owing to work at the water treatment works at Chellow Heights.
Yorkshire Water has advised householders to run the tap for several minutes. Fill a jug and leave it to stand until the sediment has settled, then use the clear water at the top. Do not run the hot tap or use dishwashers, washing machines or other appliances fed by the hot water supply.
The discolouration should not have health implications but anyone with problems should telephone 0845 1242428.
The company has also warned that traffic disruption could occur. Roads affected are: Brownroyd Hill, Carr Bottom Road (temporary traffic lights); Cleckheaton Road, Raw Nook (temporary traffic lights); Folly Hall Avenue, Wibsey, (road closed to through-traffic with residents' access only); Great Horton Road (temporary traffic lights); Little Horton Lane, Low Green, (temporary traffic lights with Halcyon Way); Long Lane, Harden, (temporary traffic lights); Mary Street, Carr House/Wyke, (temporary traffic lights).
Mayo Avenue at top of M606 roundabout (lane closure with traffic management); Menston Old Lane, Menston (part of footpath and road closed with access for through traffic via temporary traffic lights); Northfield Road, Wibsey, (possible temporary traffic lights); and Pasture Lane, Clayton, (single lane closure with access for through-traffic).
