Plymouth Albion 50, Otley 13
BEFORE a crowd of almost 3,000 Otley played out their last National Division One game of the season.
The massive crowd turned out to witness home club Plymouth Albion's last game at Beacon Park before they move to their new ground in preparation for an assault on gaining access to the Premier League.
The Plymouth fans went home happy after seeing their side score within 14 seconds and complete a rout against the Yorkshiremen.
Otley were soon in trouble when Neil Law's kick was charged down. The ball was scooped up by No 6 Chris Capaldi who went in for a try.
Ian Shuttleworth kicked a third minute penalty but the home forwards proved to be more than a handful and by the interval had stacked up a comfortable 36-3 lead.
Dan Ward-Smith went over for two tries, winger Nigel Simpson one and Capaldi his second - all but one being converted by fly-half Tom Barlow.
In the second-half Otley had the advantage of the slope and they started to settle somewhat.
Dan Parkes notched another try for the home side before Otley finally got on the scoresheet courtesy of a Mark Kirkby try on 72 minutes. In a final flourish Barlow scored again for Plymouth. Neil Law completed the scoring for Otley with a try
