It's enough to make style-conscious women in Bradford swoon.

On Saturday, one of the world's most respected names in shoes is coming to Bradford.

But the man who has put designer shoes on famous names like Nicole Kidman and J-Lo.

For Jimmy Choo is coming to help an old friend with her business - and it has nothing to do with footwear.

The Malaysian shoe designer will be attending Dr Deanna Jepson's revamped clinic on Manningham Lane.

Dr Deanna Jepson has spent the past two years refurbishing the premises to create Therapy House.

The doctor, who specialises in slimming and treating eating disorders, nearly left the city after Manningham was decimated in the 2001 riots.

But she decided to stay and make her business, the Private Medical Slimming Clinic, bigger and better than ever.

The grand re-opening takes place this Saturday evening.

And shoe designer Jimmy, an old friend of Singapore-born Dr Jepson, will be the guest of honour.

Mr Choo trained in London and began making couture footwear before launching his ready-to-wear label in 1996.

His designs for glamorous strappy sandals are adored by celebrities and Jimmy Choo shoes are now sold in exclusive shops all over the world.

Dr Jepson specialises in weight problems and offers trained counsellors, treatments and has written books on the subject.

Other treatments available in Therapy House include traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, holistic hypnotherapy, massage and physiotherapy for sports injuries, Indian head massage and beauty therapies.

Dr Jepson, who is 63, came to Bradford in 1981 and was a GP before specialising.

Though she loves Bradford's cosmopolitan atmosphere, she nearly left after the riots.

The windows of her clinic were smashed but the main problem was the effect on clients.

"It scared off about 90 per cent of patients," she said.

"Nobody wanted to come up here at all."

But Dr Jepson decided she was going to stay put.

"I said: 'I am not going to take it lying down'.

"I was getting quite fond of Bradford. It's a wonderful city and a city that really deserves it's former glory back - it has such beautiful buildings."

Inspired by the love of her Victorian building and supported by local regeneration and business support schemes, she began the reinvention.

"I decided I was going to make it a professional place where doctors and practitioners could practice in dignity."

"Two years later and after a lot of struggles, I feel I have got my first foot into Manningham village."

The opening of 1, Therapy House on Manningham Lane takes place between 6pm and 9pm on Saturday.
