A group of people sat down to a Sunday lunch last weekend which was worlds away from tradiotnal roast beef and Yorkshire pud fare. They ate a simple vegetarian lunch which consisted of rice, beans and vegetable dishes with wholemeal bread. The function, in Heaton United Reformed Church hall, in Little Lane, Bradford was organised by the city's World Development Action Group.It was billed as "Just Lunch" - an alternative to Sunday dinner.

The cab was ripped completely off a three-wheeled British Railways mechanical horse which overturned and hit a tram standard in Wakefield Road, Bradford, this afternoon. Driver and mate, who were slightly injured, were taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary. It is understood that the vehicle, which had no trailer attached, had passed a stationary bus and was turning to its nearside again when it overturned.
