Nicky Law has begun drawing up his City blueprint for next season.

The Bantams finished their current campaign only four days ago with a 5-0 thrashing by Portsmouth but Law is already well advanced with his plans to replace the senior players who have been released.

He said: "We've been out looking at games over the last couple of months on the understanding we would probably lose the players who've now gone.

"All along we tried to come up with deals to raise the money to keep some of them but we just couldn't do it. So I will now be talking to other players and their agents and hopefully getting some deals done as soon as possible before the start of next season.

"Building a squad for then starts now."

One priority area for Law is in goal after Aidan Davison and Gary Walsh were both released.

Alan Combe, who has just won his place back at Dundee United, remains a main target after his success on loan with City a year ago.

Law said: "Alan is obviously an option we've got, along with several other goalkeepers.

"Gary Walsh and Aidan Davison have been great servants for the club but it's probably time to change things. I need to get the age of the squad down."

Meanwhile, striker Andy Gray has been named in the Scotland Future squad for the B international with Northern Ireland on Tuesday, May 20.
