Polling booths were conspicuous by their absence in Adding-ham last week.
The village was one of the few areas in the district where, because not enough candidates came forward to fill all the vacancies, no election was held.
Instead, several new faces have replaced long serving councillors to form the new body.
Among those fresh to the council are self-employed woodworker Martin Ellis, former magistrate Penny Jerome (wife of veteran councillor Alan), former teacher Sheila McLachlan, and pharmacist Timothy Tasker.
Pharmacy dispensary assistant Barbara Haigh, previously served on the council from 1995 to 1999.
She will join continuing councillors Gordon Campbell, Stanley Flesher, Alan Jerome, Sheila Hamilton, and Daniel Palmer.
