A car repair centre in Bradford has opened under a new name following a £5 million regional buy-out.

Just Car Clinic has taken over Dixon Car Clinics in Canal Road in a move which guarantees the future of the site and its 29 staff.

Barry Whittles, chief executive of the new company, plans to expand its operation from 12 to 20 sites within five years.

He led the buy-out team in the amicable take-over and worked with the support of Yorkshire Bank.

Robert Hirst, general manager of the Bradford site, said the management buy- out was a vote of confidence across the board and for his team.

"It's good to see the new signs up - the outward sign of great things to come. But it's not a cosmetic change, it's an exciting new venture and the company has ambitious plans and a strong desire to provide exceptional service to all our customers," he said.

"We have built a reputation for excellence, and with our highly skilled staff we are determined to make our mark in this business."

Just Car Clinics is the second biggest branded chain of collision repair centres in the country and was launched in Hull in 1991.

It grew from one dedicated site to become established as a division of Dixon Motors Plc in 1997.

The company employs 395 people across its centres at Hull, Grimsby, Doncaster, Lincoln, Wakefield, Mansfield, Leeds, Bradford, York, Scunthorpe and two in Sheffield.

Dixons has been at the site since February 2002.

Mr Whittles said he was encouraged by the performance of the Canal Road staff who always set the standard of the company.

"The Bradford team has worked extremely hard and I have every confidence that their work will be rewarded as the company sets out on this venture," he said.

"Our aim is continue to deliver our exceptional service at all our sites, and to embed those values at the new ones."
