Pupils from Oakbank School, Keighley, and Haworth Primary School had a day out on the tiles.
Twelve pupils from years five and six from Haworth and year nine and ten students from Oakbank enjoyed a ceramics workshop as part of the Bradford Education art exchange programme.
The students took part in a tiling workshop by potters Pollie and Garry Uttley, whose work is based on Indian influences.
Head of art at Oakbank School Helen Ellwood said: "The work will be put together to form big panels like a quilt, which will be shared between Oakbank and Haworth."
Liz Windle, of Haworth Primary School, added: "This project has been fantastic, the children have all really enjoyed it and learnt a lot.
"The results are great and we should have some lovely work to display at the end of it."
Artist Garry has been strongly influenced by Indian secular and religious architecture, and these influences are reflected in the patterned ceramic tiles the workshop produced.
Pollie is inspired by the tribal costumes of India and encouraged the students to stitch the fired clay panels and decorate them with shells, mirrors and coins to blur the distinction between clay and textiles.
The first of its kind, the collaborative project between the two schools has been a success. As well as two ceramics workshops, the students also enjoyed a session about dance.
