South Korean opponents are being head-hunted for City's prestigious centenary tournament.
Managing director Shaun Harvey flew out to the Far East today hoping to secure a deal with Busan Icons to play in the four-team competition at Valley Parade on July 26-27.
Paris St Germain, Austria Vienna and German club Schalke have also expressed an interest in taking part as well as Aberdeen, who also celebrate 100 years next season.
Harvey said: "Our intention was to ensure the tournament had an international feel about it. There have been a number of agents working on our behalf in Europe and beyond.
"Playing opposition from further afield adds interest to our pre-season and breaks it up from Nicky Law's point of view."
Busan, who are tenth in the K-League, are managed by Ian Porterfield. The former Sheffield United and Chelsea boss headed for South Korea after spells as the international coach with Zambia, Zimbabwe and Trinidad & Tobago.
Their stadium was used for three games in last year's World Cup, including South Korea's opening 2-0 win over Poland.
Harvey said: "To bring over a team from one of the fastest developing football nations will increase the exposure of Bradford. And they are interested in coming to play us to boost the experience within their squad.
"We all saw during the World Cup how fast football is progressing in South Korea and hopefully this will be a fantastic opportunity for our supporters to see this close up."
Busan, who are backed by money from car manufacturers Hyundai, include two current South Korean internationals, Kim Yong-Dae and Sim Jae-Won. Both played in the recent friendly against Colombia in Busan.
City's pre-season schedule will also include two games in Scotland. They head north of the border to play St Mirren on Saturday, July 19 and Partick Thistle the following Wednesday.
After the centenary tournament, City could face Huddersfield in the West Riding County FA Senior Cup on July 29 before finishing off with a prestige home friendly against Premiership opposition on August 2. They hope to confirm the club involved within the next week.
Other friendlies will be arranged against non-league sides, including local sides, and a commemorative match at Gainsborough Trinity, City's first-ever opponents.
City return to pre-season training earlier than usual on June 23, seven weeks before the First Division campaign begins on Saturday, August 9.
