The strike of 60 drivers at Silentnight Ltd, Barnoldswick, has been resolved. The drivers yesterday voted unanimously to accept a new peace formula offered by the management, the basis of which is that tachographs will remain in the cabs of the vehicles but the records will not be submitted to the company until the end of a month's trial period.

Women who are officially described as "OS" will have their own clothes shops in Leeds this month. The shop will be one of 19 in the country owned by Evans (Outsizes) Ltd, and the opening at Albion Street will take place at 9am on Thursday May 14. Evans says the staff are also outsize themselves.
