Organisers of the biggest agricultural show in the Bradford district have taken a break with tradition to ensure this year's event is the biggest and best yet.
After more than a century, and a two-year absence, the Airedale Agricultural Society has decided to hold the Bingley Show on a Sunday rather than a Wednesday.
And they hope the new day will attract more visitors and ease congestion problems.
The society was forced to cancel the show last year because of access problems after it took the controversial decision to stage it at Bradford and Bingley sports ground in Wagon Lane.
And the 2001 event was also called off because of the impact of the foot and mouth disease on transporting livestock.
Now a new access route has been agreed with Bradford Council and the 123rd show will return to Myrtle Park on Sunday, August 17, where it has been held for more than a century.
Society vice-chairman Brian Chippendale said the committee was determined to put in extra effort to ensure the show's success.
"We haven't had a show for two years but we're back again in Myrtle Park and have permanent access for years to come, thanks to Bradford Council and Amec, the company building the relief road," he said. Amec supplied the materials to extend the entrance at the Twines, off Harden Lane.
The fun day will feature a range of attractions, including an aerobatics display, a sheep-sheering display, Dixieland due Riverboat Days, a fairground organ, parade of classic cars, train rides and Chris Topper's puppet show.
Traders are being urged to support the event and book stands in the park, while residents can also play a part by volunteering to help on the day.
Councillor David Heseltine (Cons, Bingley) said he was delighted to see the show back on track - and back in Myrtle Park. "It's good news that a new access has been found, which means it will be of benefit to other events in the park," he said.
"I wish the organisers every success. No doubt people in the town, and further afield, will also show their support and be there on the day."
