A Batley man has been cleared of raping a young woman in his home.
Graham Hirst, 39, of Norfolk Street, was found not guilty of the offence after a jury at Bradford Crown Court took less than an hour to reach their unanimous verdict.
During the three-day trial, the prosecution alleged that Hirst had carried out the sex attack after he met the woman at a pub in the town last December. At the end of the trial it emerged that Hirst had earlier pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified. He was jailed for two months and banned from driving until July 2005.
