Video: Possession
A married 19th-century writer meets a lesbian poet and they find themselves embarking on a forbidden affair.
More than a century later an American research assistant book uncovers the secret after stumbling upon one of the writer's letters.
He enlists the help of the woman's feminist biographer, and as they scour England for evidence they too fall in love.
The result is an intelligent, engrossing and surprisingly entertaining film that explores both romances side-by-side.
AS Byatt's bestselling novel is a blend of period drama and a modern detective story.
Gwyneth Paltrow leads a top-notch cast in a low-key movie that while a little bitty and slow-moving, is also witty and satisfying.

Book: Artemis Fowl The Eternity Code
Some books are wasted on children, hidden in the wrong part of bookshops along with Enid Blyton and Winnie the Pooh.
Thankfully the Artemis Fowl novels have followed Harry Potter onto the front shelves where adults can find them too.
Eoin Colfer's quicksilver action-adventures are for anyone who likes the prose equivalent of a blockbuster movie.
Artemis is a 13-year-old genius who comes up with criminal masterplots: Holly Short is the fairy he tricked in the first novel.
Since then Holly, top cop with the Lower Elements Police reconnaissance (LEPrecon, get it?), has been Artemis' reluctant mission companion.
Humour, fantasy and emotion combine marvellously in this third story as the teenager invents an electronic gadget that will make him millions.
The Cube is stolen by a ruthless crime lord, and Holly must retrieve it before the fairies' existence is revealed.

PS2: Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis
The main mode of this PlayStation 2 game allows you to build and manage your own version of Jurassic Park similar to the likes of Roller Coaster Tycoon and Theme Park.
It is very detailed and takes a lot of time to get to grips with: everything needs to be researched, and before you can create dinosaurs you need to send out teams to retrieve fossils.
There are set missions and exercises separate to Operation Genesis, which teach you how to use and apply skills needed in the main theme park mode.
It's a good game, not fantastic, but has plenty for every type of gamer.
