Keighley had the better of the clash with local rivals Bingley St Ives in the Bradford Scratch League's first Division on Friday, chalking up a 5-3 home win.
In the 3rd Division Silsden went down 2-6 at home to Bradford, but Skipton started their campaign with an excellent 8-0 home win over Headley. Branshaw lost 6-2 at The Manor.
Riddlesden top the 4th Division after a 4-4 result at Phoenix park.

Bracken Ghyll - Division 2 of the May Medal was a family affair as Mark Hunter beat father Ken into second place. 1st Division: 1 Chris Naylor 81-15-66, 2 Rob Mulloy 79-12-67, 3 Iain Hall 82-14-68; 2nd Division: 1 Mark Hunter 82-22-62, 2 Ken Hunter 86-22-64, 3 Lisle Richardson 96-28-68.
Lisle Richardson also won the Chapman Challenge for 24-28 handicappers run in conjunction with the Medal.
Ken Hunter had further cause to celebrate after notching up a hole in one at the 145 yard thirteen, using a 5 iron. Amazingly, Ken's ace was followed by another from Mick Tennant a few days later at the same hole, this time with a 6 iron.
Branshaw - Mid-Week Medal: 1 Sean Hagyard 68. Whittaker Qualifier: 1 Wayne Halligan 58, 2 Terry Driver 61, 3 Steve Busfield 63, 4 Paul Driver 64.
Keighley - The 8-15 team halved the first match of the season at home to Northcliffe, Steve Smith and Leigh Marklew winning their matches for Keighley. The Seniors Open was played in very blustery conditions and was won by Burnley pair B Henderson and A Airey with 43 points. In second place, also with 43 points, were B Appleyard and R Bladen of Keighley, and third with 42 points were W Lowe (Keighley) and R Birch (Dewsbury).

The first Mixed Greensome of the season was won by Dave and Beverley Holroyd with a net 71. Second with a net 74 were Val Churchman and Mike Webb.
On Tuesday, in wet and windy conditions, the Ladies played the Dr Neilson qualifying round. 1 Val Churchman 100-28-72, 2 Sue Holmes 101-26-75.
Keighley Rabbits won their first home match of the season, beating Bingley St Ives by 4 points to 2. Both Geoff Greenwood and Mike Hildred posted 4 & 3 victories against a strong team from St Ives. Rob De Matteis found his opponent too strong on the day and lost out by 4 & 2. In the Chippendale Foursomes the Section A pairing of Mal Thornton and Rip Wilson narrowly lost at East Bierley, but in Section B Duncan McGee and Harry Emmerson beat their Silsden opponents 5 & 3.
