SCHOOL SPORT: St Mary's have won the Airedale & Wharfedale Under-16 Football League after going through the season unbeaten.
They were unlucky not to do the double, but were beaten in penalty shoot-out following extra-time in the Airedale & Wharfedale Cup final, and also reached the Leeds Cup semi-finals.
In total, St Mary's under-16s played 18 matches, winning 13, drawing two and losing only three.
David Geldart, director of PE at St Mary's, was full of praise for the team he has coached throughout the season.
He said: "All the boys in the squad deserve great credit for their efforts. They have been a pleasure to work with and deserve all their success."
