Spen Valley District Scout Council has launched an appeal to replace a bunkhouse at its campsite in Gomersal.
A bid to the National Lotteries Board to reconstruct the Frank Harris Training Centre for Scouts and Guides failed last year. The plan would have included a replacement bunkhouse.
The current ten-year-old base has a leaking roof and faces demolition.
District Commissioner Steve Garland said the Scout Council had ordered a new unit to enable them to provide much needed mixed-sex accommodation, along with disabled facilities to meet the requirements of both Scout Association policy and those of other users, including schools and disabled groups.
The new unit, which will cost £33,000, will provide accommodation in four dormitories for 24 members, along with toilet and shower facilities.
Anyone wishing to support the cause is asked to contact Mr Garland on (01274) 871552.
