Members of the Shipley Road Safety Committee are to visit the controversial crossing at Nab Wood after a claim that the safety railings there are dangerous. The footbridge was put up nearly two years ago after months of petitioning and the zebra crossing which all the argument was about remained just a few hundred yards away. Now, committee member Mr. James Owen claims that the railings flanking the crossing prevent motorists from seeing pedestrians wishing to cross the Bingley Road at that point.

British Railways are this week decorating 145 stations for the Coronation. They include those at Bradford, Leeds, the principal London termini and those at the ports. Some stations will be floodlit. A special effort is being made to complete before Coronation Day the painting of as many as possible of the 900 stations to be renovated this year.
