Former Bingley businessman John Walker, who ran an advertising agency in the town for more than 20 years, has died at the age of 67.
Mr Walker came to Bradford in 1969 when he became creative director of Powney, Furness, Compton after leaving Birmingham-based Brunnings Advertising
He later became a founding director of Lund Humphreys Advertising before setting up his own firm, J&J Walker Advertising, in Bingley in 1978. His clients included Kosset Carpets, Thomas Burnley, Stephenson Bros, Damart and Christopher Pratts.
In 1998, he retired when he suffered a stroke. Mr Walker, who lived in Ilkley, was a keen artist. He died last Thursday and leaves a wife, June, four children and five grandchildren. His funeral is on Friday at 12.45pm at Sacred Heart Church, Ilkley.
