Three Bradford area youngsters have been selected for the Brazilian Soccer Schools' national squad.
Bingley's Joe Holden has qualified in the under-14 age group, Odsal's Lee Mazacs in the under-13 age group and Northowram's Jack Sellars has been chosen in the under-nine age group.
The trio have caught the eye after attending trials at the Futebol de Salao headquarters at Garforth Town AFC, near Leeds.
And now they will represent the Brazilian Soccer Schools in competitions and tournaments throughout the year, as well as facing professional soccer club's Academy sides throughout the county.
For example, last year's under-14 national squad beat the Scottish national squad 3-2 after being 2-0 down in the Jack Wood Tournament in Northern Ireland, and the under-16s played in the London Cup against sides from PSV Eindhoven (the eventual winners), Chelsea, Fulham, Nigeria, Thailand and Wales.
Stuart Owen, head coach of the Brazilian Soccer Schools Bradford, said: "I am really proud of all three lads. They, like every boy and girl who come to us, have worked really hard on their game and have developed well through our coaching and the game of Futebol de Salao. I am sure they will be key squad members." Futebol de Salao uses a smaller but heavier ball which does not bounce, thereby promoting dribbling, passing and juggling.
