Yorkshire's 19th Century industrial heritage could attract large numbers of tourists to the area and create employment, a Bradford professor told a meeting at Leeds Polytechnic. Prof. Tom Stoner, chairman of Bradford University's School of Science and Sociology, was speaking at a meeting organised by the Town and Country Planning Association's South and West Yorkshire's Planning Forum.

A resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire in Korea or the withdrawal of all British troops was passed unanimously last night by Bradford Trades Council. Moving the resolution, Mr. Jack Ward, a delegate from the Amalgamated Engineering Union, said there was a great danger at the present time that the truce talks in Korea might again break down unless the British people took decisive action.
