RATHMELL'S Neil Taylor was victorious against darts legend Eric Bristow in a battle at Settle Social Club.
Neil, who plays for Tosside's Dog and Partridge team, was given an advantage of points - 501 to Eric's 801.
However he showed his mettle and managed to win by 170.
Neil's uncle, Malcolm Taylor, also managed to beat the celebrity, proving a steady hand runs in the family.
"It was really exciting," said Neil. "As it got near the end everyone was cheering."
The sporting celebrity was visiting Settle to mark the end of the darts season for local teams.
