Ilkley U-9s 4, Wharfedale 4
Ilkley Under-9s team took to the field for the last time this season looking to avenge an earlier defeat by a strong Wharfedale side.
Wharfedale scored two tries in quick succession within the opening minutes of the game and they dominated the play for the first-half of the match.
Despite good runs by Sebastian Tullie, Alasdair Fischbach and tackling by Joshua Whaley, Wharfedale were in the lead by four tries to nil by half-time.
However, Ilkley fought back during the second -half with two tries from Jack Cheesewright, one from Matthew Thompson and the last from Edward Hardy to level the score at four all.
Man-of-the-Match Tom Hobson epitomised the improved performance demonstrated by Ilkley who earlier in the season lost 6-0 to the same side.
This was Ilkley's final game of the season and coach Jonathan Mordey can be proud of the team's improvement over the last eight months.
