Dougie Lampkin extended his lead at the top of the World Trials Championship after a hectic weekend in Germany -- but missed out on victory on both days.
On Saturday he had to watch from the sidelines as other riders climbed the podium, finishing the day in fourth place behind his main rival, Takahisa Fujionami of Japan, Marc Frexia and Adam Raga. He picked up a five point penalty on the first section and collected three more 'fives' on his second lap.
On Sunday Lampkin was back on the podium, but in second place behind fellow Brit Graham Jarvis. The Silden rider ended the round with 33 points, level with Fujinami and Raga, but he got the second place because he dropped fewer marks on the first lap.
He ended the weekend leading the championship with 101 points, ahead of Fujinami (94), Freixa (93) and Jarvis (80)
Round Four of the World Championship sees the riders head to Japan on May 31 and June 1.
n There is an action-packed weekend on two, three and four wheels over the Bank Holiday.
