Keighley travel to Workington tomorrow aiming to maintain their place at the top of National League Division Two.

Having won their opening four games, Gary Moorby's side have made a perfect start to the season.

The Cougars are aiming to extend their fine run of form, however Moorby admitted: "You don't get any favours in Cumbria."

Having played against Carlisle, Workington, Whitehaven and Barrow during his own playing career, the Cougars boss is acutely aware of the threat his in-form side faces.

"Cumbria is always a tough place to go to and they produce some big lads up there.

"Workington, in particular, have some tough customers but we will be ready for them", claimed Moorby.

The Cougars' opening four games has seen them record victories over Hunslet, London, Chorley and York.

However, Keighley face a Workington side under the new management of former Great Britain forward Billy McGinty.

Moorby said: "It's the worse time to be playing them because all their players will be going all out to impress him.

"However, I am not concerned about other teams - we just need to stay focused on ourselves.

"We are capable of going up there and winning but when you are on top of the tree, everyone wants to knock you off."

The Cougars are currently riding a huge wave of optimism, with Danny Ekis' call up to the National League under-21s reflecting the wider upturn in fortune of a club facing liquidation eighteen months ago.

Moorby said: "When you are successful and are battling away at the top of the league, then players get noticed and the rewards start coming.

"The spirit within the squad this season has been excellent and this has manifested itself to the extent to where we will not give up.

"The victory at Chorley epitomised our spirit and determination. Last season, we would have lost that game but our team spirit got us through."

"Against York, we conceded three late tries, but despite winning, the lads were disappointed at giving these late points away.

"They know they must keep going for the full eighty minutes and that is the benchmark that we must aim to maintain."

Ricky Halliwell is doubtful tomorrow with a sore knee but Moorby otherwise has a full squad to choose from.

Lee Patterson, returning from injury, and Mick Durham, back from a loan spell at Swinton, are both in the squad.

Karl Long, the younger brother of St Helens star Sean, is suspended for Workington, giving the Cougars another boost.
