Andy Tod will not feature again at Bradford City.

The big Scot has one more year to run on his contract with the Bantams. But after being told by Dundee United chief Ian McCall that he will not be staying at Tannadice, City have made it clear their position has not changed.

Should Tod play another game for the club it will activate a £25,000 appearance fee clause with Dunfermline. And City have no intention of paying out that cash on a player they no longer view as part of Nicky Law's squad.

Chairman Gordon Gibb said: "We've bargained on life without Andy in terms of our plans for the future.

"We don't think there is an immediate need for him at centre-half, his strongest position. And we don't want to play him out of position and have to pay that figure, especially early in the season when by definition there is no such thing as a crunch game.

"It's something Andy will have to consider and I'm sure we'll hear from him and his agent."

Tod has appeared regularly for Dundee United since returning to Scotland on loan four months ago. But he does not feature in the overhaul being carried out by former City winger McCall.

Gibb added: "It's up to Andy and his agent to weigh up what happens next but it's crystal clear what the options are with regards to Bradford City."

Busan Icons will not be joining in City's pre-season tournament on July 26 and 27. They were not given permission to play by the K-League, whose fixtures re-start that weekend after a mid-season break.
