A well known Indian poet is to recite some of his poems and talk about his poetry in Bradford. He is Arun Kolatkar, who won last year's Commonwealth Poetry Prize, an annual award of £250 for a first book of poetry in English for writers from Commonwealth countries other than Britain. Mr. Kolatkar is said to be able to write with equal ease in English and his native Marathi, but the recital will be exclusively of English poems.

After two days of racing in the 206-mile East Midlands three day cycling road race, two Bradford men, Ken Jowett (Viking) and Gordon Thomas (B.S.A.) are lying second and seventh respectively. As Jowett was but 1 min.6sec. behind the leader Ian Steel (Viking) on general classification and had a 5min. 22sec. lead on J.Gill, Three Spires R.C. he stands a good chance of final victory.
