The teenager who died when a Land Rover landed on the top of the car he was driving has been named as 18-year-old Nicky Christopher Roberts, of Long Lee, Keighley.
Mr Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene on Thursday after a collision between the Ford Escort he was driving and a Land Rover Discovery. The crash, in which two teenage girls in the Escort were also injured, happened at 5.43pm at Rylstone, near Skipton, as the car was travelling towards Skipton.
A North Yorkshire police spokesman said 16-year-old Candice Church, of Church Street, Skipton, suffered facial injuries and Victoria Halliwell, also in her teens, of Linton Falls, near Grassington, suffered a broken collarbone.
The driver of the blue Land Rover Discovery was Angela Smith, aged 25. She was air lifted by helicopter to Airedale General Hospital at Steeton with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigating officers are keen to speak to people who may have witnessed the crash, and anyone who saw the Escort as it travelled along the B6265 towards Rylstone. Call police on (01423) 539474.
