Pudsey Congs sent out a chilling warning to the clubs who fancy their chances of deposing them as champions when they dismissed Yeadon for just 33 yesterday on their way to a crushing nine-wicket win.
The result takes them to within one point of Bradford League Division One leaders Baildon who were defeated for the first time this season at Undercliffe by four wickets.
Congs wrapped up their win with ruthless efficiency in just 26.2 overs. The match was all over by 3.15pm and leaves Yeadon rooted to the bottom.
Pakistani paceman Naveed Rana-ul-Hassan made it 11 wickets in two matches this weekend as he claimed five for 19 while Neil Gill took four for ten.
Congs, who are chasing a fourth successive title, took 11.4 overs to knock off the runs they required for victory, for the loss of one wicket.
Like Congs, Undercliffe are on the up. They were the only team to pick up a maximum 12 points from the weekend programme and are now third.
Wicketkeeper Matthew Duce hit a sprightly 61 for Baildon but lacked support as his side were dismissed for a disappointing total of 137. Undercliffe's overseas all-rounder Jaffer Nazir (4-68) was well supported by Greg Lambert (3-41) and former Baildon spinner Andy Walker (3-26).
Undercliffe eased home with despite having to contend with the menace of Baildon spinner Mushtaq Ahmed (4-39).
The day's best bowling performance came from Spen Victoria medium pacer Kez Ahmed. He took seven for 19 to inspire his side to a 100-run victory over East Bierley - his old club. Ahmed triggered a stunning collapse which saw Bierley lose their last nine wickets for 39 runs as they were dismissed for 103 in reply to Spen's score of 203 for four which was built around the solid 63 made by opener Gharib Razak.
Another bowler to produce a match-winning display was Pudsey St Lawrence's left-arm opening bowler Gary Severn. He captured six for 62 as Saints defeated Cleckheaton by 45 runs.
Cleckheaton were dismissed for 132 in reply to a Cleckheaton total of 177 for nine which owed much to Alex Stead's innings of 65.
Hanging Heaton's left arm spinner Simon Purdy was another six-wicket man.
His six for 37 sent Woodlands spinning to 104 all out. Bradford/Leeds Univer-sities Centre of Cricket Excellence skipper Ishmail Dawood hit 59 and Leicestershire opener John Sadler (40no) as Hanging Heaton eased to an eight-wicket victory.
Idle skipper Mark Nicklin seems to bowl infrequently which seems a pity for his side because yesterday he came on with his left arm spin and took six for 48 n the drawn game with Gomersal.
Idle were nine wickets down and nine runs behind Gomersal's total of 207 for nine when the overs ran out.
Division One newcomers Mirfield are still unbeaten after clinging on for a draw against Farsley.
The highlight of the game for them was an innings of 69 by opener Richard Haikings while young batsman Alex Blakeborough top scored for Farsley with 61.
