Menston opened up a seven-point lead at the top of Division A after two victories over the weekend.

Four players shared the honours as Menston overcame Follifoot and Steeton with Gary Thompson and Ned Taylor providing solid batting performances in both matches, and Richard Taylor and Martin Knowles among the wickets.

The latter pair were particularly important against a strong Follifoot side who looked in command at 98 for two, before Knowles (5-29) and Taylor (4-70) kept the visitors down to 154, a total Menston passed for the loss of six wickets.

Otley boosted their position on Saturday when a fine 81 from opener Sam Smith helped them to a 61-run win over North Leeds, but they were unable to sustain that form at Guiseley on Monday, falling 36 runs short of victory and having to settle for two points.

After convincingly beating Steeton on Saturday, Guiseley are now in third place, a point behind Bilton, while Otley are a further point back.

Kirkstall are at the top of Division B after beating Rawdon and Calverley, but they are being chased hard by Burley, who took 11 out of 12 points at the weekend.

Nick Brook and Ian Normington combined well as Tong Park were dismissed for 102, 65 runs short of Burley's total, and Normington was again effective as Ilkley collapsed from 83 without loss to 106 for eight, the spinner taking three for six.

Ilkley's Anthony Giles enjoyed a good weekend with the ball, taking five wickets against Calverley and six of the nine Burley wickets to fall, but his side only had three points to show for their efforts and are down in eighth place.

A fine, unbeaten half century from Jamie Davey helped Rawdon beat Pool by four wickets, a good response from the team after the shock of being skittled out for just 39 by Kirkstall.

Silsden were another side who bounced back well from defeat. After losing to Pool, for whom Philip Dibb took five for 22 as Silsden were bowled out for 111, Andrew Waggett led the fightback with an innings of 60 against Harden. But the visitors managed to hang on to two points, with just one wicket left at the close.

Robert Dilger was the star performer as Skipton kept up the pressure on Division C leaders Colton by beating Illingworth and taking five points off Upper Wharfedale.

The all rounder weighed in with three wickets in Saturday's five-wicket win, then hit a superb, unbeaten 111 as Skipton raced to 265 for seven. But Wharfedale put up stern resistance to grind out 115 for six and take a point.

There's never a dull moment watching Bolton Villas. On Saturday they were involved in a tie at Olicanian, both sides scoring 72, while their Bank holiday fixture saw them revive from 31-3 to pass Illingworth's 148, thanks to Barry Hawksworth (56no) and Steve Wilson (40no).

Olicanian were dismissed for 72 again on Monday, this time by Addingham whose 68-run win following on from a winning draw over Woodhouse puts them in third place.
