THE Airedale and Wharfedale League produced its first tied game of the season on Saturday.
The Division C encounter between Olicanians and Bolton Villas saw the sides bag three points each in a low scoring game.
Batting first Olicanians were dismissed for a mere 72 and thoughts of getting anything out of the game must have been but mere dreams.
However, the Ilkley side stuck to their task and some excellent bowling and fielding saw Bolton Villas dismissed for exactly the same score.
Only Richard Machell with 14 reached double figures in the Olicanians innings as R Slater (4-31) and A Stoker (4-25) wreaked havoc.
Machell then picked up 2-17 in support of some excellent bowling by Australian Ross Veitch (4-23 off 16 overs) and skipper Bernard Hughes (4-26 off 13.5 overs).
Neighbours Ben Rhydding are enjoying improved form and they took four points from a drawn game with Upper Wharfedale.
Ben Rhydding totalled a more than useful 206 for eight with a fine 74 from their Australian Vijesk Nandan. He was well supported by N Winterbottom with 53.
Upper Wharfedale made a solid start through D Whitfield (31) and J Agars (45) but some persistent bowling by N Winterbottom (3-53 off 19 overs) kept them in check and they finished on 170-7.
Horsforth failed by 23 runs to match the Colton score of 143 of which opener N Thackray made 38 and Johnny Johnson 31. Bruce Rainford bowled well for Horsforth taking five for 29 off 13 overs.
He did not fare so well with the bat though being dismissed for 12 and his colleagues also struggled against the bowling of D Wright (4-25) and M Stalgis (4-32). Horsforth were eventually dismissed for 120.
Pool Mills have just one point to show from their six games and on Saturday they were put out for 118 as they chased Alwoodley's 168. Mills had bowled well enough with M Kershaw grabbing five for 39 off 17 overs and M Wilkin-son four for 39 off 11.4.
The Mills batting however is not proving strong enough and only B Goodwin with 29 and M Wilkinson with 21 showed any real resistance as J Hatchard took four for 17 and G Weir (4-30).
Addingham are enjoying some good form and they had the best of a drawn game with Woodhouse. Skipper Sean Atkinson led the way with a fine knock of 64 not out after useful contributions from openers Neil Freeman (28) and Jamie Barrow (22) and Darrell Robinson (38).
Woodhouse replied with 124 for eight to draw despite the efforts of Chris D'Arcy who took three for 28 off 13 overs.
Addingham then took all six points on Monday bowling Olicanians out for 72 as they chased 140 for eight.
For Addingham Peter Rishworth top scored with 32.
Olicanians crumbled in the face of some good all round bowling being all out for 72 as Simon Farrand claimed three for one, Chris Campbell (3-23), Chris D'Arcy (2-6) and John Yeadon (2-16).
Ben Rhydding all the points against Pool Mills thanks to 37 from N Winterbottom and a return of four for 28 from A Winterbottom.
