Voluntary and community groups in Bradford can take advantage of a website which tells them how to obtain free professional support.

The site - www.professionals4free.org.uk - contains a host of information and advice to make it easier for organisations to assess whether they need professional help.

The website hosts a database providing details of people that voluntary and community groups can contact.

A helpdesk run by the National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) is also available.

The launch of the website follows an extensive Home Office-funded study and consultation by Business in the Community, which resulted in the 'Free for All' report.

The website seeks to address the report's findings that few organisations who could benefit from free professional support seem to know what services are available or where to find them.

Lord Filkin, Home Office Minister for Race Equality, Voluntary and Community Policy, said: "I am keen to see businesses play a greater part in their communities. Their workers' skills can be invaluable to voluntary and community groups who often need professional help but cannot afford to pay for the services they need."

Groups can also take advantage of West Yorkshire ProHelp, a network of firms willing to offer help and advice to community groups.
