A woman who is fighting cancer held a music evening to top up her fundraising efforts to help fellow sufferers.
Mary Toothill, from Keighley, handed over £3,758 to Airedale Cancer Support Group at a special music evening at the New Variety Club last Friday.
Mary, who has been fighting breast cancer for 21 years, has been supported in her fundraising attempts by her daughters Susan Kelly and Kirsty Mullaney.
She said: "I am definitely pleased with the outcome. It was a really good night and the support from the public and my two daughters, who have been stars, has been tremendous.
"The support group is absolutely tremendous for myself and is good for relatives."
Club owner Paul Finn provided the venue without charge and local pop-rock band Under The Covers played for free at the event, which raised more than £200.
Money had previously been raised at a similar event when Hush and Five Previous Owners played at the club.
People were sponsored to have their chests, backs or legs waxed or their heads shaved. Keighley businesses also donated prizes for a raffle and auction.
Next May Mary and her two daughters intend to join in with the Playtex Moonwalk, a marathon night-time walk organised by charity Walk the Walk.
The walk, which attracts about 15,000 women, was first held in 1998 to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Starting and finishing at Battersea Park, the participants walk a 13-mile route across London.
