Denholme were on the receiving end of an incredible run-chase when Embsay paid their first visit to the club.
After losing a two wickets for 28 runs, Embsay went on to plunder 317-5.
Duncan Ward and David Robinson put on 162 for the third wicket before the latter was bowled for 60, although not before breaking a window in the nearby Black Horse. Ward went on to a magnificent 181no which included 16 sixes and 14 fours. The homesters could only reply with 115 with Paddy Clark top scoring with 33 as Stephen Speak claimed 6-34.
Joint leaders Cowling, tumble to fifth spot after going down by three wickets at Bradley. The visitors batted first and posted 160-9 with Steve Mitchell 46 and Martyn Dalby 43 showing the way. John Duffy finished with 5-69. The homesides reply got off to a bad start, losing two wickets for just one run. However Mick Hall 47 and Neil Robinson pulled things round before Craig Tempest with 43no lead his side to the points.
Long Lee move up to second after traveling to Barrowford and winning off the last ball, in a 32 over per-side game. The Bull Holme side were restricted to 88-9 with Neil Hargreaves anchoring proceedings with 43no. Matt Taylor took 4-34. The Keighley side were indebted to Mick Iles 39 and Brian Portlock with 34 for their victory.
Thornton are third after comprehensively beating Skipton C.I. by eight wickets at Sandylands.
Oakworth are fourth after a six wicket win at Haworth W.E. The Bronte side were restricted to 107-7, Dale Hoyle taking 4-46 off 10 overs. The Cure Hill side strolled to victory, led by Adam Fradley who made 55.
Cullingworth's ground was in surprisingly good condition for the visit of Haworth. However on a slow low wicket the home side struggled to 112 with Steve Freemantle topscoring on 25 as Jamie Rowell bowled well to finish with 6-34. The reply looked to be on track until Chris Welch got to work. He bowled a good line and length and finished with 4-22 from nine overs, as the innings folded to 80 all out.
Joint leaders of the Second Division, Sutton, were in splendid form at Ingrow St John's. They dismissed the Saints for 101 with Ben Bolland taking 4-33 and Darren Wild 4-40. Then Danny Brown 56no and Paul Williams 42no took the South Craveners to an emphatic 10-wicket win.
The other joint leaders, Ingrow were thwarted by the wet conditions at Airedale, with no play possible.
Third placed Glusburn were defeated by one wicket after two of their ex-players, now at Cononley, put one over on their mates. Newcomers Phil Shackleton 41 and Kevin Hird 37no had helped Glusburn to 169-9. Then Craig Watts 50 and Andy Filkin 44no took Cononley to the spoils by one wicket.
Jimmy Nelson's were too good for Carleton, winning at Ramper Park by 45 runs.
Chris Brooker-Carey took 7-53 for Foulridge at Chatburn, the home side making 179-9. The Noyna team were then knocked over for just 58 with Andy Booth claiming 5-22.
There was no play between Pendle Forest and Gargrave.
Oakworth move into top spot in Division Three, after seeing off the previous leaders, Barrowford at Cure Hill. The home side were restricted to 124-8 in a 40 over per side game. Paul McCullough hanging around for 37 overs to top score with 44 as Nigel Jones spun his way to 7-55. Drew Duffy 3-9 and Chris White 3-16 then helped the Red Rose side back to the hut for 88.
Haworth are third after a good win at home to Pendle Forest. On a pudding of a wicket S Petty 43 and Phil Entwhistle helped the Fence side to 122 as Richard Ellis performed the hat trick in his 5-29. The Bronte side lost seven wickets reaching their target.
Airedale move into fourth after a narrow 12 run win at Embsay. The Keighley side made 126 with Trevor Cox making 50 as Mick Hirst and Andy Bell took three wickets apiece. Skipper Alan Robinson made 34 as the Shires Laners fell short of their target. Aslam with 7-38 doing most of the damage.
Cullingworth were dismissed for 88 at Long Lee with Razak taking 4-2 and Stephen Butterfield 3-43. However this was nine too many for the home side as Russell Hogg took 4-40 and Mark Rendell 3-21.
There was no play at Cowling or Thornton.
Denholme moved to sole top spot in Division Four after winning by 62 runs away to Pendle Forest III. The visitors had Phil Poole jnr, 68no to thank for their 129-7. Then Richard Taylor 4-9 and James Wilkinson 4-30 had the homesters out for 67
Bradley are second after no activity at Sutton.
Keighley Tech drop to third after losing by 40 runs in a high scoring game at Glusburn. The homeside plundered 238-9 in their innings with P Barker making 51 as N Coppack took 5-64. In the Keighley sides reply of 198-9 Wayne Coppack top scored with 62 as Ian Shoesmith took 4-40.
Gargrave recorded their first victory of the season in a low scoring game at Skipton Road. The homeside were shot out for just 54. Visitors Chatburn faired even worse as they tumbled to 42 all out with A Marshall taking 5-21.
There was no play at Foulridge or Ingrow.
