KEIGHLEY-based athletes showed their class at the Greaty North Junior Championships in Liverpool last weekend.

Frances Noble (Under-20 L:ady) came fourth inthe long jump and sixth in the 100m hurdles, clocking a lifetime best of 15.84 seconds. Her sister, Emily, was injured andunable to compete as one of the favourites int he Under-17 ladies 80m hurdles.

Oliver robinson (Under-17 men) was fourth in the 100m hurdles in a season's best time of 14.58secs.

At the same event Rebecca Long won the Under-17 ladies 300m hurdles to add to her Yorkshire and West Yorkshire Schools titles.

Ella Teasedale gained two silver medals at the Yorkshire Championships in the pole vault and hammer, throwing an English Schools qualifying distance of 39.96m.

Emily Noble wosn the 80m hurdles in 11.7secs, one of the fastest times in the UK this year. She also took bronze in the 100m with a pesonal best time of 12.8secs and was fourth inthe 200m.

Frances Noble won gold in the 100m hurdles and silver medals in the long jump and shot.

Ben Ambler of Parkside School took silver in the javelin and was fourth in the shot. Oliver Robinson of Bingley harriers won silver in the shot and was fourth in the 100m.

Anthony Gill returned to the track after a layoff and won the 110m hurdles in 14.7secs to regain his Yorkshire title, with training partner Alistair Clay getting the silver medal.

All the athletes are members of the Bradford District athletics development squad which trains at Greenhead track.
