Local clubs Keighley and Bingley St Ives continue to struggle in the Bradford Scratch League's First Division, sharing bottom spot after both losing on Friday.

Keighley went down 5-3 at home to Cleckheaton, while St Ives lost 6-2 away to Bradford Moor.

In the second Division Hollins Hall had an 8-0 win at South Bradford to move into second place.

Skipton moved to second in the Third Division after beating Branshaw 6-2, moving ahead of Silsden, who went down to a disappointing 6-2 home defeat against West Bowling.

Riddlesden stay top of the Fourth Division despite losing 6-2 at Fulneck.

Bracken Ghyll Golf Club celebrated its 10th anniversary with a dinner and dance. President Neil Riley paid tribute to the hard work and dedication which had gone into making the golf club the fastest growing in the region, particularly the efforts of all involved in managing the transition from a private nine hole golf course to an 18 hole layout owned and run by its members. Guests of honour were the club's first president Ian Crawford and Mrs Crawford.

Earlier in the day the annual Oddballs Mixed Greensome was played, in which the winners were Adrienne and Lisle Richardson with 41 points. Second were Julie and Nick Cook (39pts) and third Karen and David Lampkin (36pts).

Following the recent opening of new tees and greens, the Yorkshire Union has approved the increase in the Men's Standard Scratch Score by one shot to 67.

Keighley - The Ladies 'A' team had a second home win last Thursday, beating Hanging Heaton by six and a half to a half.

The Clubmans Trophy 4BBB and Bradford Charities qualifying round were played on Saturday: 1 R Mitchell and I Bellas 61, 2 A Utley and N Northrop 63, 3 A Houldsworth and L Keenan 63, 4 A Logan and M Stanley 64. These four pairs qualify to play in the Bradford Charities event at Hollins Hall in August.
