REBECCA LONG has picked up double gold in the 300m hurdles -- and is one of the country's top young athletics prospects.
The Oakbank School pupil won the North of England Under-17 title to add to her victory in the Yorkshire Championship. Her winning time of 46.89secs was within the qualifying time for the English Schools Championships to be held later in the year.
The race at Liverpool's Wavertree Athletics Centre, saw her take on the top athletes in difficult conditions.
Rebecca, who represents Bingley Harriers and is coached by Bradford Athletics Development officer, John Woodcock, is also leading the West Yorkshire track and field league for Under-17s.
