This wasn't what Nathan Joseph had in mind when he predicted an early finish.
The in-form cruiserweight did not plan to hang around in his latest fight against Brian Gascoigne on Saturday.
But Joseph, from West Bowling, could not have imagined that the six-rounder at Barnsley Metrodome would be stopped after just 15 seconds.
And sadly it will go down on his record as a second loss after a dislocated left shoulder forced Joseph to be pulled out.
The 22-year-old was backed by a coach-load of noisy fans from West Yorkshire. But they had only just finished cheering him into the ring when referee Phil Edwards called it off.
Joseph suffered the fight-ending injury from his first punch. Throwing a left at the taller Gascoigne, his shoulder popped out to leave his arm dangling by his side.
The action was immediately stopped as Joseph was helped back to his stool where his corner decided there was no way he could continue.
"It was just a normal jab cross but you could see the shoulder go straight away," said trainer Chris Aston. "Sadly it's just one of those things that can happen. You can't explain it although it does happen when you are in with bigger guys and have to throw punches upwards.
"I feel very sorry for Nathan because he was really bubbly for this fight. He was confident of winning with a stoppage and I'm sure he would have done if he'd had the chance.
"The referee asked if he could have boxed on but at this stage of his career and at his age, there would be no point risking any further damage. He couldn't have done anything with that shoulder."
Joseph was due to go straight back in the ring next Monday against Chesterfield's Greg Scott-Briggs at Bradford Hilton. Dewsbury's Mally McIver, a points winner on the night against Peter Allen from Birkenhead, could step in for the Yorkshire Executive Sporting Club dinner show.
Joseph has fought five times in six months since turning pro but Aston added: "The injury isn't down to the schedule, he is a strong guy and has been in excellent shape.
"The most important thing is that he has got his whole career in front of him. He was going to have a couple of months off and now we've just pushed that forward to give him as long as he needs to recuperate.
"Nathan is obviously upset but he'll come back from this. And I'm sure it won't be too difficult to arrange a re-match with Gascoigne further down the line."
