Bradford firm Controlled Demolition Group has been rewarded - for being accident free for four years.
The company was presented with a Gold Award for four consecutive years without accident or incident from the
Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
It also received a Safety Award from the British Safety Council.
The firm said the accolades, together with other awards, including the HSE European Week for Safety and Health Award, underline Controlled Demolition Group's claim of being the safest demolition company in the UK. The company, responsible for demolishing more than 2000 structures worldwide, said it has an above safety record across all industry sectors and is on line to surpass five and ten-year safety targets set out in Sir John Egan's Rethinking Construction report.
David Ballard, director general of the British Safety Council said: "This is an outstanding achievement and a fitting reward for Controlled Demolition Group's skill and effort in maintaining a record which is significantly better than the national average.
"I am proud that Controlled Demolition Group has so ably demonstrated its commitment to best practice in the workplace."
