The wife of a missing Bradford pensioner today said she feared she will never see him again.
Betty Butterfield, 64, has been waiting for news for her missing husband Peter nearly four weeks now. And now she fears the worst.
Mrs Butterfield said she believes the most recent sighting of her husband - on Bradford Golf Course - was not him, but someone else.
Police received reports of Mr Butterfield being spotted at the Hawksworth course chatting to golfers.
But Mrs Butterfield said the description did not match him and he would not have stopped to chat to people.
The last confirmed sighting prior to that of Mr Butterfield was May 18 when he was spotted by a woman walking her dog in Baildon.
Mr Butterfield, of Cullingworth, suffers from depression and high blood pressure and has not got the vital medication he needs.
He has disappeared twice in the past - the last incident was five years ago - but this is the longest time he has been missing and his health has deteriorated considerably since.
"Peter was younger and more healthy when he disappeared before and I'm now fearing the worst," said Mrs Butterfield.
"I know the last sighting wasn't Peter because the description was nothing like him. The witnesses said that Peter was talking to them but he hadn't spoken a word for over four weeks before his disappearance," she added.
Police are set to launch another search of the area in the hope that they will find more clues as to Mr Butterfield's whereabouts.
