LEADERS Kirkstall Educational cemented their position with victory over second-placed Burley. This was in the main thanks to a fine century from Andy Siddall, his 110 not out coming as his side chased Burley's 206 for seven.
For Burley Ian Normington led from the front with 47 and Ian Frost made 42. Siddall in partnership with M Hall (57) saw Kirkstall to a seven wickets win. They shared a third wicket stand of 156.
Rawdon took advantage of Burley's failure to move up into the promotion places with a fine six wickets victory at Harden.
Craig Walsh's side knocked off Harden's 165 with Bruce Percy in fine form with a knock of 66.
He gained useful support from skipper Walsh (20), Jamie Davey (28) and Duncan Stow (25 no). Neil Waite had claimed three for 34 as Harden fell.
Silsden have moved into third place after their drawn game with Bardsey whose last pair hung on for the last eight balls to claim two points.
Bardsey thus remain at the bottom of the table on five points.
Silsden totalled 159 thanks to a half-century from New Zealander Darren Crook who went on to take three for 40.
S Bowes almost turned the game Bardsey's way with a fine knock of 65 while skipper A Bowes made 26. This pair shared a third wicket stand of 65 after openers Graham Hopton and D Watson had been dismissed without scoring.
Crook and M Shuttleworth (4-22) held them in check and they finished on 133 for nine.
A superb century from Jonathan Hughes saw Ilkley post a total of 236-for nine despite the efforts of G Greenwood who took five for 67.
Hughes shared a second wicket stand of 80 with Chris Quaife, who made 30, after sharing an opening stand of 58 with Australian Simon Stolcman.
Ilkley then dismissed Thackley for 138 with Anthony Giles maintaining his excellent form with a five for 45 return while Richard Simpson took foru for 43.
For Thackley Mark Senior batting at number eight made an unbeaten 50 which gave the score some respecta-bility after they had been 70 for eight. Little could be said for the rest of the batting as they limped from five for two to 30 for six and then 70 for eight.
Indian Chandar Sheikar is proving his worth for Tong Park and he hit 54 as they made 176 for eight against Knaresborough.
Chris Shepherd gave excellent support with a knock of 45 as the pair shared a second wicket stand of 74.
The veteran Mick Scott then took five for 26 as Knaresborough held on for the draw at 124 for eight.
He was well supported by I Jackson who took three for 25. For Knaresborough J Dodman made a fine 40 from the number four spot.
Another overseas player doing well is Pool's Australian Oliver Wilhelm. He hammered a fine 72 as they totalled 247 for four against a ragged Calverley bowling attack.
He was well supported by David Murphy with an unbeaten 54, Richard Carlton with 48 and Steve Wood with 38. Calverley were dismissed for 148 in reply.
