Here is a scene calculated to remind some older middle-aged Silsden men of their lost youth!
The date was 1961, the occasion a charity football match between Tetley's Tigers, representing the King's Arms, and Ramsden's Rangers from the Robin Hood Inn. Ramsden's Rangers kneel at the front, distinguishable by the initials RR on their jerseys.
The photograph was supplied by Mrs Sylvia Clues, of Cringles Park, Silsden, whose husband Ian Hindle was one of the players.
He recalls that Tetley's Tigers won 3 to 1, himself scoring a hat trick.
The expansion of Silsden was already under way in 1961, as evidenced by the buildings under construction in the background.
