POSTMAN Stewart McDonald clocked up a superb performance to take second place in the Sheffield Marathon last weekend.
Stewart, a member of Bingley Harriers, was back on the road after setting a personal-best time in the London Marathon only seven weeks earlier.
In London he clocked 2hrs 28mins, but the heat and hills of Sheffield took their toll on his time. He finished in 2hrs 32mins 53secs but secured second place.
"It was very hot with temperatures into the 80's and the course was much hillier than the London Marathon. I was pleased to feel pretty good after finishing, particularly just seven weeks after running in the London Marathon.
"I ran fairly even-paced, reaching half way in 1hr 16mins."
Now Stewart will be back to training with his sights set on the Nottingham Marathon in September.
